2024
The last day of 2024. When I look back on the past year, it was full of complicated and mixed feelings. An unexpected and heartbreaking loss of my dad, martial law imposed by the Korean government, and wars and incidents around the world. Also, many of the things I planned this year also didn’t go well.
I put a lot of effort into maintaining my mental health this year. Whenever I calmed myself and returned to my daily routine, unexpected and tragic moments and issues happened again, and I felt like I was in a rollercoaster.
I watched a video by chance which was created by a neuroscientist explaining how burnout, anxiety, stress, and lethargy are connected to our brain and how we can overcome them. While watching few episodes, I tried climbing out of my cave of sadness and depression and it was quite helpful.
Last spring was very tragic. Even when it was sunny, I felt sad inside. In the summer, I took many walks under the sun. In autumn, I traveled to some places, and during the winter, I listened to music, read books, and cooked at home a lot.
Even though this year was very rocky, making new friends and meeting old friends in Berlin helped me a lot this year.
Also, I felt stuck as an engineer this year. I was frustrated and seemed to have a hidden ceiling in my mind. I hope I can solve this problem in 2025.
